I teach middle school science for an inner-city school system. My students are eager to learn and explore new concepts, but with monetary cut backs, technology is difficult to come by.
My students love science and the ability to explore concepts that they are interested in.
Science is so much more interesting when modern technology can be utilized. For example, when learning about weather, the application to the Weather Channel provides graphs, and charts, as well as current weather alerts and data.
My Project
We would like to add a Samsung Galaxy tablet to our research tools in the classroom. The tablet is faster than using a computer and has numerous interactive options to choose from. Students gain a natural excitement when they have access to new and current technology.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math are extremely important fields for our students to consider when looking into future career options.
It is imperative that our kids have access to current technology in the classroom to encourage their excitement in the STEM careers and you can help to have that positive impact by helping our project become a reality!
