Technology seems to be embedded into almost everything these days. Some of my students have never had the opportunity to use it at home and I am excited to inspire them with their learning through technology.
My students are a group of 25 wonderful little beings that come from many different cultures.
Many of my kids are experiencing the school like setting for the first time as well as learning the English language. They are coming in with a blank slate and will hopefully leave readers and lovers of learning. They are excited about learning anything and everything. They want to be at school so they can see their new friends. Our school is Title One which means that over 80 % of our students are receiving free or reduced meals due to income.
My Project
This iPad would be a fabulous resource for my students to use. They have so many apps that are motivating for kids to use for learning. Some of our curriculum we use also have apps so the kids can do their Math in Focus through technology. There are also a lot of different phonics apps and letter recognition apps that the kids that are struggling can use to help on an individual level. Having the kids able to record themselves reading and be able to watch it instantly will be a great way for them to reflect on their learning. The iPad will be a huge incentive for some learners to stay on task and will really benefit some individual students to get them excited about reading. Most of the families in my school are unable to afford anything like an iPad and having this available for the kids use will be an excellent experience for them to prepare them for the world outside of school.
This iPad will be an incredible resource for the students to use on a daily basis.
Helping kids learn their letters, sounding out words, recording themselves reading and many other things. I am excited to have this amazing piece of technology to capture their smart thinking and abilities and be able to analyze it. My class thanks you in advance for helping to make this possible.
