I am a Special Education teacher in an urban school district. My students have special needs, however, they have the benefit of operating in a general education setting every day.
Fortunately, I am able to pull my students into small groups to reinforce the general curriculum on a daily basis.
Working with high school students can be tough, as they don't want to appear to be "different" from any other student. It is my great pleasure to be able to keep them on track with their learning in these small groups.
Technology is the cornerstone of most of society today. It is just as impactful in education. In recent years, we have seen more and more of a need for technology in the educational realm. From in-person to hybrid to full virtual teaching, schools have had to adjust to the demand for technology on a daily basis.
Now that we are back to an in-person schedule, we have been required to utilize technology in a much greater capacity in and outside of the classroom. It would be great to have this new MacBook Air to assist my students in their learning. The demands of lesson plans, individual education plans (IEP), google classrooms, virtual small group instruction, virtual intervention time, and access to items that will be used during hands-on learning is so important to my teaching. This is also been expanded by becoming a class advisor and helping the students in the class of 2024 fundraisers and more.
We are seeing that technology is at a demand that has never been seen before. A new laptop would be a wonderful addition to the arsenal of tools used on a daily basis.
