As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
Our classrooms must meet the highest level technology in order to meet the needs of eager learners.
This project will help to close that gap that has been haunting our children for decades.
I could download apps for various websites which would allow students a chance to explore educational tools right at their fingertips. It will also provide the teacher with digital materials within reach of her classroom.
Having the set of headphones and laptop will allow for different structures of learning in my classroom. One way they will be used is as a STEM center. Students can listen individual lessons using the classroom laptop. It will also help with small group activities. They will use headphones to hear live stories and apps used as an educational tool during center time. Recently, we had earbuds for each student. They found it hard to listen to because earbuds kept falling out of their ears. It is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues and they miss important instruction from either myself or other students when students don't proper headphones. Larger laminating pouches will protect their artwork.
