My Students
My little scholars come to school ready to learn. We work in groups and individually. These kiddos have grown up with technology in their laps; however, they mainly have used it to play games. We need technology for more.
I work with a group of students that is not yet comfortable typing on a keyboard or able to easily navigate on the internet.
They just don't have the resources at home, and we don't have the resources at school, to have these kids on technology daily.
My Project
These Chromebooks will make a huge difference in our classroom. My third graders need to access the computers to get on to Khan Academy, to work on math facts, to practice reading, to work on typing, and to write essays. We do these activities on a weekly or even daily basis.
Students don't have computers at home to use; they need them at school.
I need to get my kids in front of computers at school where I can teach them how to properly use them.
Kids need to know that technology is more than playing games. They need to see that technology is a tool that will help them be scholars.
