This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In our technology-driven world, students should be the prime beneficiaries. There are so many programs and educational sites out on the web, but who has enough money to have one computer per student? Certainly we don't, and neither do a lot of our parents.
My reading/writing class has 7 ESL students, all of whom greatly benefit from visuals.
We also have a high number of students who don't get to experience technology, because of financial limitations. I strive to expose the children to as much technology as possible. Through this, every student benefits and their education is drastically increased. As are their chances to succeed outside of my classroom, and school.
My Project
I am requesting an LCD projector so that I can maximize the benefits of our limited resources. We do not have enough computers, in a world that demands its people to be experts on them. Likewise, students crowding around a single monitor cannot fully benefit from the technology. By projecting the screen, I can expose and teach every child. I can also take advantage of power points, educational websites, and much more interactive visuals (to enhance instruction).
I believe that every child has the right to succeed, regardless of where they come from or how much money they may have.
And if there is a way to help give them a head start on future expectations, would I not be remiss to overlook it?
