This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When you think of technology what comes to mind? I'm sure you're not picturing the outdated and obsolete computer we have in our classroom.
I teach at a Title 1 school and many of our students live in low-income housing.
The median household income for parents living in this area is $36,000 per year. Students at my school have limited access to technology such as computers, Internet access, and printers. Many don't have access to a home computer that they can utilize for homework or research projects.
My Project
I am requesting 1 desktop computer, 1 copy of Microsoft Office Home, 2 flash drives, and 1 ink cartridge. My students will benefit greatly from this new technology. All of my students are learning English as a Second Language, so they learn best through hands-on activities. Having a computer means they will be able to engage in research projects and access websites that will help improve their reading and writing skills. Your generous donations have already funded one computer. Printer ink will come in handy as students begin to publish their projects. My class will be working on Native American and Mission projects. It would be nice to have another working computer in the classroom to use for these projects.
Please help fund our project.
Currently, there are 27 students for the one classroom computer. With your help and generosity, we can have one more working computer in the classroom.
