I work in the inner city. My students live in a low-income neighborhood and struggle with meeting basic needs every day. For many, school is a safe place that feeds them and removes them from the elements.
Since the first day I walked into my school, I knew it was full of talented students and compassionate educators.
I am ready to give these kids another reason to love the days they get to come to school. They need to know that they are valued, cared for, and worth it.
My Project
My students benefit from having various avenues for learning. With a tablet, small groups can use apps to learn and reinforce what we are learning in the large group.
Having tablets will help make the music classroom even more memorable to the kids.
They will be able to create and document what the do in the classroom. They can record themselves performing, critique what they have done, and learn from others. I am positive that these resources will give my students access to more and enthusiasm to create.
I think my students deserve to have these opportunities and would be so excited to try new things.
