This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 5th grade students are eager to learn. They are always excited to use technology in the classroom as for most of them it is a novelty. Our school is always working on promoting technology with our students as we all understand that our students will need technological skills for their careers in the future.

Technology is used throughout the day in my classroom.

For math, students are able to watch interactive slides on the computer that introduce new concepts. As part of our reading program students go online to play vocabulary and spelling games.

My Project

The additional laptops in my classroom will give the students more usage time. Students need to strengthen their technology skills to help with state testing which is now done online. Students need more practice typing in order to create word documents on the computer. Students need more opportunities to research new information for projects. The novelty of using laptops motivates students to search for even more information, and students enjoy the experience as well. Using technology is fun for the students and encourages them to complete tasks as well as stay engaged in any activity. Technology use will also prepare students for their future education, as well as their future careers.
