This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are from a title one school in East Los Angeles. We are in our third year of APES. Lincoln students have a passion for learning and are yearning for more opportunities to do so. One of our mission and vision statements is that students are to graduate with skills in technology. We are also a math science technology science magnet center. Unfortunately the technology that we have are very outdated and slow. We would benefit greatly from more up to date technology that is versatile for student projects.
My Project
The laptop will be available for any student to use for typing up research projects, preparing powerpoint presentations, online projects, internet searches, and so much more. We do so many group presentations. The technology available from the school is very limited. My students often have to go to the library or another class to do their technology work. It would be so much more convenient to have a laptop and flash drive available for classroom use. It is also easily portable so that when we do our field work, we could bring it along and directly enter data and analyze with graph programs.
