This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 5th grade students are eager to learn. They are always excited to use technology in the classroom as for most of them it is a novice. Our school is always working on promoting technology with our students as we all understand that our students will need technological skills for their careers in the future.

Technology is used throughout the day in my classroom.

For math, students are able to watch interactive slides on the computer that introduce new concepts. As part of our reading program students go online to play integrative vocabulary and spelling games.

My Project

Students will use the tablet to research information online. I'm planning on setting it up as a workstation for a group of students to go to during Math and Language Arts Group Rotation. Students will be given a group task that requires them to do research online. Topics will span across the curriculum and include Math, Language Arts, US History, Science, and Health.

The use of technology in the classroom will motivate students.

Students will want to do something different. It will also encourage them to participate. Students will become more familiar with the use of the technology and strengthen their skills which will be needed for the rest of the life.
