I am a guidance counselor at an intermediate school and I teach one hundred seventy-five sixth grade students career guidance.
My students are a mixture of all ability levels.
Some students are gifted, reading at the high school level, while some others are very low level readers. Our intermediate school includes 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. During my class, my students learn about the different career opportunities and the path they need to travel to have the career they want.
My Project
Imagine all the resources and tools that students can have right at their fingertips. We need an iPad for access to helpful resources. I can provide a wealth of creative and informative activities along several lessons in Career Guidance. The iPad will give me the ability to show educational videos and information. Students will also work independently and in small groups on assigned tasks and projects.
There is no doubt that technology is a key factor to our classroom instruction.
Currently, my classroom has no computer or any type of technology. Having an Apple iPad in our classroom will enhance my lessons, improve instruction, and provide endless learning opportunities for my students.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
