Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach fourth and fifth grade at a title 1 school. All of my students are English Language Learners with diverse needs.
This is my first year of teaching.
I currently teach a fourth and fifth grade combination class. The school that I currently teach is classified as a Title 1 school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. This technology will be very beneficial to help me grow as a teacher.
My Project
The IPad Air 2 and adapter will help me increase my knowledge of technology. With Common Core State Standards being so new, this technology will help me learn how to implement the state standards in my classroom. I would use the IPad to watch videos, have access to the standards quickly, and find lessons online that align to the standards. With this technology, I would be able to easily access my students Dibel scores, which will help me plan my reading groups. I would also be able to more research in depth on the Smarter Balanced Assessment, like finding practice tests. This will help me to become better informed to prepare my students for the test. In addition to, I can use applications, like I Movie and I Author. This will also be beneficial during professional developments and Common Core trainings, so I can easily access the resources they are offering.
