My students need 4 iPads in the classroom in order to supplement their learning. The 4 covers will help protect the iPads so they can be used for years to come.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever been in a store and seen a two year old playing on a tablet or iPhone? Everywhere you go, children are able to operate this technology. Unfortunately, my students have not had that opportunity yet.
Our school has a high mobility rate, meaning that the majority of students have the tendency to move on a constant basis.
When a student is consistently moving from school to school, they lose a lot of academic classroom time.
Unfortunately a lot of the students within our school tend to not only be academically behind, but also at risk for failure because of low socioeconomic status. Many of the students arrive at school hungry, without supplies and craving the need for a safe environment.
My Project
As we all know, technology is the future. Being tech savvy is a necessity. In our classroom, students will be able to use these iPads, with protective covers and headphones, for various reasons. Unfortunately, many of my students are academically low and need other support. Their are many apps that can be used on the iPad that can help target needs that are academically specifically to each child. All of my students can use them for research, but my higher students will be able to extend their learning and create many new projects that can possible help the entire school!
Having technology skills is critical in today's society.
These iPads will help every single student that comes through my classroom. Some students will be able to use them as a means of intervention and all will be able to enhance and extend their learning. Every student will be able to thrive and feel excited about their learning.
