it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher serving a low income area, there are specific challenges that my students face both in and out of the classroom. These eager and excited young students come to school everyday ready to learn and happy to explore. Unfortunately, situations beyond their control threaten their success on a daily basis.
Many of my students have a difficult time securing the basic supplies they'll need for daily use.
For this reason, my projects on DonorsChoose are of vital importance to my students. I believe that it is my duty to provide these exceptional young thinkers the best opportunities that I possibly can. My diverse group of dedicated and inquisitive students will get the chance they deserve with the help of these resources.
My Project
The new normal is that students will be doing a large part of their learning online. My students do have access to Chromebooks through the district, but first graders can be very rough on their technology. Many of our laptops now have broken or damaged headphone connections, making it very difficult for students to use online programs.
The adapters I'm requesting will make it possible for students to use the USB port to connect their headphones, making the computer much easier to use!
I know this project isn't for flashy or fun materials, but these are the day to day items that can make learning so much easier for the students. It's one hurdle that we can take away.
