My Project
This academic enrichment project is to incorporate relevant technology in my Fitness & Health class at my elementary school. Teaching physical education can be challenging with the lack of equipment and trying to keep students engaged. These iPads would be incorporated into everyday PE activities by allowing students to track their health goals with applications, the use of QR codes, video resources, and the ability for students to record themselves and each other and create video projects for advanced learning.
Incorporating technology would create a more dynamic class that works for students with a wide range of fitness levels.
There are also many applications with great games and activities that can be utilized on tablets that will enhance my teaching and student learning. By using technology in a PE setting, it will help create a more varied and dynamic classroom environment. Technology in PE is also appealing to the interests of many different students and ability types. Using technology to teach PE allows me to create more activities and show how important students' health is while staying current with generational needs.
