My students need Pedometers to visualize their success in PE class.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Valenzuela's classroom raised $539

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are based in Los Angeles Inner city schools. These students come from low income families and are considered to be under-privileged. Our students are very active but like a lot of different activities. Some do not like to participate in major sports due to its competitiveness and choose to participate in other modified activities like pickleball, team handball and ultimate Frisbee.
As a school we chose to participate in the 100 Mile Club.
This will help students who want to be more active, but do not want to be in a competitive sport. They should challenge themselves and become more active. This is a great morale booster for our students and it helps create a community of support.
We need help to have trackers for students during PE so students can track their MVPA (Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity). This will be a great movement to enhance our students view on physical activity and have them meet their goals!
My Project
By joining the 100 Mile club students need to convert every type of physical activity into miles. With our conversion chart we would like to have something track their activity time and steps.
Students will be using the pedometers to track their activity time in PE classes.
they will use that data to convert it to miles. By tracking their activity time they are learning responsibility while working toward their 100 mile goals!
I would like your help to have the tools to help students track their progress and visualize their current success. By providing the tools you are helping students develop a physically active life and battling obesity.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
