Help me give my students access to technology. Since many of them are on the autism spectrum, the tablets would provide many different ways for them to learn and communicate with others.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Special Day classes contain a mixture of students who are functioning at different levels. Many of my students are on the autism spectrum and have sensory concerns. Some of my students are functioning on grade level, while others are just learning how to read and count. My students learn best from using technology.
In my class, we try to build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.
Our school is a Title I school which is located in a low-income neighborhood. My classroom is about building relationships and accessing the general education curriculum in different ways.
My Project
These tablets would be used in the classroom to enhance the students reading and math skills by using differentiated applications. The touch screens of the tablets are easier for the children to use compared to a laptop.
Some of the applications we will use for the children are Razkids, zearn, splash math, ABC mouse, and Orai-Al.
These will help the students improve their math, reading and communication skills.
Our school is located in a low-income area, so many of our families do not have access to technology. This is why it is so important for children to have access to the classroom.
