it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher serving a low income area, there are specific challenges that my students face both in and out of the classroom. These eager and excited young students come to school everyday ready to learn and happy to explore. Unfortunately, situations beyond their control threaten their success on a daily basis.
Many of my students have a difficult time securing the basic supplies they'll need for daily use.
For this reason, my projects on DonorsChoose are of vital importance to my students. I believe that it is my duty to provide these exceptional young thinkers the best opportunities that I possibly can. My diverse group of dedicated and inquisitive students will get the chance they deserve with the help of these resources.
My Project
My students need durable headphones that are made for kids. We are integrating a variety of technology in our classroom including blue tooth enabled listening center, Google classroom, iReady online adaptive math program and Learning A-Z online reading program. In order to effectively use these amazing programs, each student needs their own set of headphones.
Although some students have brought in their own, the inexpensive headphones my families can afford are not exactly kid proof.
They break easily and often, making it difficult to truly implement the technology I'm attempting to use. The headphones I'm requesting are made for kids making them durable and versatile.
