This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing first graders with curious minds! Although most of my students are English Language Learners and of low-socioeconomic status, their determination and dedication to learning is impressive. My students are full of enthusiasm, creative and eager to embark in new challenges. They love hands-on activities, working in groups and discovering new interests.
I admire my students for their bravery and fearlessness as they immerse themselves in the English language and remain motivated to succeed.
My students do not always have access to books, technology or the support outside of our school environment, yet each day they come to school ready and willing to grow academically. I am truly proud of their outstanding efforts!
My Project
The use of iPads in the classroom will make a huge difference in students' learning. Currently, the use of technology in the classroom is limited due to the lack of resources. Being able to obtain these iPads will allow my students access to instructional resources in language, reading and math. They will be able to use them in their independent small group rotations as well as for instructional support.
Technology in the classroom allows for differentiated instruction that is tailored to all learning styles.
Integrating technology supports learning, helps students remain engaged, assists in making learning more meaningful and fun and enhances the relationship between teachers and students.
