Deaf students are visual learners and what a great way to learn using a visual and kinesthetic tablet like the iPad.
Our Hearing Intervention Program includes 45 deaf and hard of hearing middle students from all over Memphis.
We are based in a public middle school. The grades range from 6th to 8th grade. We have some self contained classrooms for our students while others are mainstreamed out in the general ed classrooms.
My Project
Having an iPad in the classroom will allow my students to read books and work on reading applications using touchscreen technology. Using these applications will allow our students to practice the skills they learn in order to retain knowledge and concepts.
Having this type of technology is so important and would make a huge difference in practicing vocabulary, language arts, and reading skills that they learn in the classroom.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
