I teach a class of interested, enthusiastic, and bright 3rd graders in Bronx, New York. The students natural academic ability, personal commitment to their education, and diligence in their work, led to their placement in our schools “accelerated” class. This class setting allows me, as the teacher, to aim high. I am able to incorporate New York State Learning Standards grade levels above to elevate my students learning and in turn provide them with stronger and more enriched learning opportunities.
My Project
I am looking to gain this technology material to utilize in my 3rd grade classroom in the Bronx, New York. Students in my class have excelled this far in their school work and have been placed in an “accelerated” class setting. I am looking to attain technology to meet the needs of the fast paced academics within my classroom. These resources will help me to meet each students varied needs, differentiate their learning, and challenge their thinking and understanding of material. In addition to supplementing their academics, these tools will help my students have access to technology in a healthy and responsible way. In our ever changing world, it is important for students to learn positive ways to incorporate technology into their lives.
