My students need an iPad to have access to technology for my First Graders.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have the opportunity to become familiar with the Internet because of iPads that have been supported by DonorsChoose projects. They get to use iPads in Literacy and Math Centers and love it! The challenge is having enough of them to accommodate the number of children in my classroom.
My students love to learn!
They love to come to school and they look forward to the different activities that are planned for them. They love it all, even more, when it involves iPad time. This is the only chance they get to use technology for most of them.
My Project
My students will use this iPad to support literacy, math, and the technology component of the Common Core that requires a student's ability to work independently and access information. This iPad (addition) will be really useful because it has cellular ability to work when our school's 'signal' doesn't. It will have the capability of working without malfunctions that destroy the moment. It can keep the flow of the lesson going and hold the interested and engaged. There are so many new 'apps' that support phonics, handwriting, and sight word recognition. They will also use it to support math skills, like addition and subtraction facts in a flash, number sequencing, geometry and pattern recognition. We will also use the iPad to research non-fiction topics in science and American landmarks and symbols in social studies.
Supporting this project keeps my mission going.
That means that I am dedicated to keep my students in step with the current learning trends that involve technology. That requires access to technology and that requires iPads.
