This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Tablets, cell phones, laptops. Technology is everywhere in today's modern world. The students in today's classrooms need to master these items to be successful in the future.
Our first grade class is a part of a charter school located in Paterson, NJ.
It is considered to be a transition class, as our students are below grade level. They are students that would traditionally have been retained in kindergarten. The goal of our classroom is to build them up so that they will be on a second grade level at the end of the year.
My Project
Everyday we come in contact with a variety of technology. At our new facility for first graders, there is little to no technology present. The problem becomes: how do you prepare students for work In the 21st century by teaching them in the ways of the 20th century? The answer: you CAN'T! An Apple iPad mini will help our students prepare in an interactive and engaging way! Using a variety of educational applications, students will be able to review and extend learning on an individual basis.
