Technology Fun to Enhance Learning and Formative Assessment

My students need technology (Fire tablet, case, and plickers) integrated into the classroom to enhance formative assessment.

My Students

My students are a diverse group that blend together to help each other learn and be successful. At our school we strive to create a "family" where students from all different grade levels and personal backgrounds feel comfortable and confident in themselves, each other and their teachers. We strive to create a school where people feel valued as an individual and as a learner. Everyone has something to offer and everyone is an important part of the "family".

At our school our mantra is that we are " The best at getting better".

Which means we (students and staff alike) are always trying to grow as people and learners.

My Project

Hello,

I am asking for a Kindle Fire, with a case, and Plickers.

These items will enhance fun and engagement using technology. Plickers are cards with images that can be scanned with an app. The application will be placed on the kindle fire. The students will be given Plickers assigned to them. The questions are multiple choice and each plicker has four sides. When they answer a math question they turn the plicker to face the direction of their answer. I will then walk around the room scanning all of the students plickers. It gives me instant results. The results show a real time understanding of the topics being assessed. This will allow me instantly know who is getting questions correct or incorrect. Which will allow me to differentiate instruction to students on varying levels.

Technology is a fun and engaging way to get students interested in showing their understanding. In addition the file folders will be assigned to each student to hold their final assessments.
