This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am eager for my students to learn mathematics to the highest extent. I worked tirelessly over the summer to get ready for our blended classroom, which is research backed and mastery based.
I have created over 100 videos for my students to learn the content and work at their own pace while being able to meet with them individually and provide individualized help, thus differentiating instruction.
The students are really appreciating this opportunity but many of our devices are slow and broken and it is hindering our learning process.
These laptops can make a big difference in my classroom as they provide the scaffolding needed to help reach my diverse set of learners.
This is my 25th year teaching and my second in the NYC DOE and I am so passionate about helping the students pass their Algebra exam so they can graduate in 4 years.
The model I am using also helps them to learn how to self-regulate and organize so it provides them with life skills, which they can take beyond the classroom.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I was just given 15 more laptops by the school but most don't turn on or are slow and it is hindering my students' progress.
Thank you in advance.
Giving these students the chance to be their best is all I can ask for.
