My Students
Hello! My name is Ashton Moff and I teach 7th grade Texas History and 8th grade US History. My group of students are intelligent, hard-working, and excited about technology! Our school is a designated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) campus but unfortunately, as a Title I school, budgets have limited our immediate everyday access to technology inside my actual classroom.
A few years ago we successfully completed a campaign for 25 tablets and they have changed my classroom 10-fold.
My students have daily access to the internet for their research and academic needs. We are the only class at the secondary level to have immediate access daily. My classes have seen huge jumps in exam scores and even had their PBLs showcased on the Texas Education Agency's website and social media!
We are in need of 8 more tablets to complete our set since our classes have grown in size. This would ensure each student has a tablet without having to share and pause their own individual research and learning. My Project
Technology is an integral part of our lives. My goal as a history teacher is to fold technology into my students' learning through research and creativity. After our first campaign for 25 tablets I have seen amazing projects created, student-centered learning achieved, and test scores skyrocket. As my classes are growing I need my technology access to grow with them.
Next year I will be teaching 7 classes filled eager young minds.
