My Students

I teach high school social studies at a low income, rural district in South Carolina. My position is unique as I will be teaching virtually in our district's new program reaching a multitude of student's with many different needs. Our student's will be learning from home while I will be teaching in a brick and mortar school.

The virtual program is designed to deliver dynamic and thoughtful instruction to student's homes while allowing interactive lessons to take place in small groups.

My Project

This project is designed to enhance the learning of my virtual students who will be working from home. While they are at home, I will be working from my brick and mortar school.

These items will enable me to bring my classroom into their homes.

The webcam and headset will allow stronger communication between me and my students. The Rocketbook and the document camera will enable me to provide visuals and notes in a video chat setting that can immediately be uploaded to their Canvas learning platform. These technology tools will make our virtual setting less like a virtual setting and more like a classroom.
