Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. They are primarily newcomers with little to no English and varying skill levels. Most of them have significant gaps in their education and require a lot of support to catch up to their peers. Being in an inner-city, they are often exposed to difficult situations at home as well. Each student brings a unique background and set of experiences to the classroom.

Although they may face great adversity, they are extremely energetic and eager to learn.

They come to school each day, despite the challenges they face. They have shown me the meaning of resilience, and I continue to be amazed by all that they are able to accomplish.

My Project

The requested Chromebooks will allow my students to access a wide variety of content within the classroom. As English Language Learners, my students have a lot of hard work ahead of them. These Chromebooks will not only allow them to search for visuals to help them grasp difficult concepts, but it will also teach them the skills necessary to be successful in today’s world of technology They will be able to utilize Google Classroom, improve their keyboarding skills, and prepare for online assessments.

My school currently uses Chromebooks, but as inner city school lacking sufficient resources, there are never enough for all the students.

These 3 Chromebooks would allow me to use them in my small groups and help my students make incredible progress!
