Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Just being online for only a few days, I can already see that my kindergarten students are a wonderful group of children. I'm very excited to have them in my class for this unprecedeted school year. Most of them are second language learners and come from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

I teach Kindergarten at a Title I school in Southern California and they deserve the very best.

We are a school of very diverse cultures, ethnicities, and economic backgrounds. I would love to have the tools to offer the best on-line learning experience. My district will begin this year virtually and for the little ones who are brand new to being a student, this will be a difficult challenge for teachers, students and parents alike.

My Project

This project will provide me with technology tools that will help me with my "virtual classroom" and when I am wearing a mask. I want to be able to see and interact with my students to the best of my ability, especially when I am sharing my screen or moving my computer around my classroom. Having this second monitor and movable stand will allow me to see my students at all times. My students will also be able to see everything in my classroom that I am sharing. This interaction is the most important tool I have to engage my students with their learning and make it a successful distant learning school year.

And when we do return, most likely we will be wearing masks.

Having an amplifier will help the students hear me better. Again, this tool will help me make my in-person interactions just as successful.

All 3 technological tools will show my students how important they are to me and how important their learning is to me as well.
