This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a third grade class of highly motivated, enthusiastic learners. We are in a New York City public school located in the South Bronx. I know I can make a difference and some instructional resources will provide me with the avenue to touch my students' lives forever.
The families of my students struggle financially.
My school is a 100% free lunch school because the majority of the students qualify for the state's free lunch program. Many of students' families are new to the country, struggling to learn the English language and find employment.
My Project
We do NOT have smart board in our classroom and they cost too much to purchase one. A projector and document camera would allow me to integrate technology into my classroom. With the use of a projector and document camera, I will be able to connect my computer to show videos, images, presentation and documents to my class. I will be able to incorporate all my content materials and learning videos in our everyday instructions and this would be possible with a projector and document camera. A projector and document camera could allow me to use my computer to show educational websites, videos, pictures and documents.
Having a projector and document camera is the final piece to the classroom set up.
With these pieces of technology classroom learning and instruction can begin! The possibilities are endless and it would be used in all subjects. With the new common core with an emphasis on computer usage this technology is even more of a need!
