My Students
My 85 eighth grade students are very excited about learning. They come from a low socioeconomic background with over 85% being eligible for free lunch. These students however are very respectful and responsible and have been working towards restorative justice over the past three years. This work and their focus on mindfulness this year has really helped them to become more reflective and responsible as middle school students both inside and outside of the community.
Math is difficult for many people, however, my students are always challenging themselves to become better mathematicians and have found great pride in themselves when they begin to watch themselves master the content.
It is a beautiful thing to be able to watch students recognize their abilities and their worth, day in and day out.
My Project
My students are students of the 21st Century. In order to truly be successful and ready for the future, they deserve to have the opportunity to work with technology that will allow them to expand their thinking and push them to dive deeper and think more critically. My goal is to allow for more student centered learning to take place in the classroom, and incorporating the iPad Pro is the perfect way to start. With the seemingly endless apps as well as access to the internet, my students will be able to explore the topics in greater depth.
Education is the key to the future, these students deserve the ability to explore, create, invent, interact and demonstrate their learning by using technology.
