Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach students from various cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic status. They are sweet, energetic, and motivated to learn. My students are learning to have a growth mindset because they want to be successful and want to please their parents.
Students can succeed when they have the right tools.
My students are eager to learn; however, they need technology to support their learning goals. Most of my students enjoy technology. It's a great way to motivate students. My students want to succeed; they just need the right tools.
My Project
These chromebooks will help my students access the curriculum they are expected to master, including science and math. Students also need to be prepared for the online standardized tests they will be taking next year. Our school is in the process of becoming STEAM (next generation science standards) certified. Students are expected to utilize technology to create projects and collaborate with other students.
I want to provide my students with a robust education that includes 21st-century technology.
In addition, my students need chromebooks to use Zearn, an online program, that supports our math curriculum. It perfectly aligns with our math curriculum, Eureka Math. The math curriculum worksheets are not visually interesting, but Zearn makes up for that. The students really enjoy Zearn because it's fun and rewarding. I'm trying to acquire a class set of chromebooks so that each student has his/her own computer and because it is environmentally friendly. Let’s save the trees! I also plan to use the chromebooks for language arts and our newly adopted Social Studies Alive curriculum. In addition, I want students to begin taking assessments online so that they are prepared for the online statewide standardized test next year. Thank you for your support!
