My Students
Students who are products of low socio-economic backgrounds, do not have access to technology at home, have cognitive and emotional disabilities and varied learning styles would benefit from the use of and access to books, research & apps that engage, are interactive, and capture their imagination.
My students have specific learning disablities and are Emotionally or Behaviorly Disturbed.
They attend a public school in a low socio-economic neighborhood. The students have varied learning styles and require constant redirection and engagement. They enjoy technology but it is limited in my school. I do not have one student computer in my classroom. Lab time is shared with the entire school and rarely gets to my population.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad to engage learners in the fun use of educational apps and activities that address a variety of learning styles. Students do not have access to technology at home and are bored and underchallenged in the traditional classroom setting. They lack experiences that would allow them to interact with their world on the super information highway called the internet. They enjoy using technology when given the opportunity!

Students will be given the opportunity to interact with 21st century technology opening up a world of varied reading, writing , core academics and research, thus allowing them to compete globally.
