"We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world." David Warlick
I teach a self-contained special education classroom.
My dynamic group of students have diverse social, emotional, and behavioral needs. My students may have a diagnosis of an emotional disability, mental health disorder, or an autism spectrum disorder. Each student in my classroom is very unique and requires individualized support and resources.
My Project
An iPad mini would serve many purposes in my classroom. First, it would be used to teach and review math skills with my students. I could use many different engaging applications to teach and review critical skills. I would also use an iPad mini to work on language arts skills. Students will be able to read books, research, and create stories and projects on the iPad.
There are many new applications being created specific for students who have disabilities. I will use these applications to meet individual needs of my learners. Finally, I will use the iPad to teach and review social, emotional, and behavioral skills with my students, as these are their biggest areas of need.
Your donation to this project will directly impact my students and future students.
An iPad would provide all of my students will applications and resources to meet their needs. Technology impacts how we learn, communicate, and live our lives. My students deserve opportunities to learn how to use technology in order for them to be successful in school and life. Thank you for taking the time to view this project!
