My students need:
1. Puzzles: To strengthen their fine motor ability.
2. Sprout Tablets: To support the development of their language skills and communication skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is a Kindergarten to Second grade multiple-disabilities class in New York City. My students are mostly non-verbal with little to no ambulatory ability.
My students are ages four to six years of age, and they love to learn!
As soon as my scholars enter into the classroom they run to the books or draw with crayons right away. My school, P.S. 138 is a New York City District 75 Special Education school.
My Project
My students will utilize the puzzles to build their fine motor strength so they can better utilize language technology. The Sprout tablets will aide in the building of my students' communication skills, which is essential in their learning.
Since most of my students are non-verbal, it is my responsibility to work everyday to help them in building a communication system that they can utilize in and out of the classroom with the people around them.
