My students need a tablet computer to aide them in their learning because they have limited mobility secondary to cerebral palsy, and spectrum related disablities.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Melluso's classroom raised $295

My Students
Most of you don't know what it's like to work with kids who have a disability that limits your movement or hinders the way you think, but I do. I'm an Occupational Therapist that works with kids that have an array of disabilities. A tablet will increase there ability to pursue learning objectives.
The kids that I work with have disabilities that range from cerebral palsy to autism.
They live in low socioeconomic areas and don't have access to technology that can increase their independence. Learning with a tablet will introduce technology that can improve access to school related concepts that a computer could not.
My Project
I'm requesting a tablet because some of my students have difficulty moving their arms, hands, and fingers. A tablet is easier to use compared to a computer/keyboard because access to applications is applied by just touching the screen for a brief period of time. This will improve independence when completing school related
activities.
Giving kids with disabilities the opportunity to become
independent in school related activities can only promote
a sense of confidence that will enable them to take on challenges in the next stages of life.
