Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are creative, active, loving, full of questions, and inspiring! They absolutely enjoy fun, hands-on activities.

They are active learners who need hands-on activities throughout the day in order to allow them to explore and interact with one another.

Early Childhood Education is the focus of our school. We offer bus services that bring students from all over the city with different backgrounds and challenges. 90% of my students come from low-income families. Although my students are exposed to different learning strategies and are constantly on the go while learning, they need new hands-on activities and a safe environment that allows them to focus and emerge as readers. By having this extra support we will be able to provide them with opportunities to meet their needs. These preschoolers are really an amazing group that fills my day with their smiles, questions, and original ideas.

My Project

The infrared frame will allow all students to see their classmates and interact with them. The students in person need to keep a safe distance when sitting in a group while the students learning virtually can be seen at once but just on the computer screen. The butterfly stools are comfortable and easy to move around when needed and will provide the appropriate distance and flexible seating for the young students. Also, the flexible tools will allow them to stay focused for longer periods of time when hybrid learning is happening. Both groups need to receive instruction at the same time. My school does not provide smart boards for the preschool level. By donating to the infrared frame, I will be able to transform a regular whiteboard into a smartboard, and students will be able to avoid distractions with comfortable sitting and focus on increasing their learning!

By donating to our project, you will infuse our students with a digital learning tool that will help to improve and increase student engagement and will provide them the right to equitable learning opportunities both at home and at school.

Students will be able to simply focus on the daily activities during the synchronous time, and work together from home and school. Technology is becoming a basic need in any classroom due to the world's current events. Plus any interaction with updated technology will increase their academic and social skills as well as their desire to learn!

Supporting classrooms with more technology gives students the opportunity to develop important skills, including problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking skills, preparing students for success in a rapidly changing environment.
