My Students

I teach students with learning challenges in a self-contained classroom called Life Skills. My classroom is part of a special education co-op that serves four of the eight different school districts. Many of my students come from low socio-economic homes.

My Project

Technology is a must in the education system today.

My students have a specialized curriculum online and there aren't enough iPads for each student to have one.

They are often waiting on others to finish before starting their work on the iPad, which makes it somewhat difficult if we are doing a group lesson. The students are very eager to learn when the iPad is involved. It also helps break down communication barriers for my students that are Non-verbal or cannot communicate through speech. My students are grateful for the iPads that they are using to access their environment.
