Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Kindergarten is a special place in a school. For many students, it's their first time in a formalized school setting where they are eager to learn, grow and play.
Teaching in a New York City Title I public school has been the best experience of my career thus far.
I am the special education teacher servicing many of the students and their individualized education plans in our classroom.
My students are adorable, funny, eager, smart and excited little kiddos. Each and every day they come to school ready to go! My goal is to continue to meet their needs by providing them with access to technology and the hands on materials they need to learn.
While this global pandemic has been a particularly difficult time, I'm hoping to make up for lost time by revamping my practices and materials to create a positive hybrid learning environment for all of my kids!
My Project
As a Title I school, many of our students live below the poverty line. Having easily accessible technology in the classroom allows them to successfully work within our new hybrid model of schooling due to the global pandemic.
By having access to technology in the classroom, these Kindergarteners will be able to independently practice new skills while maintaining social distance regulations.
The new technology will allow them to interact in new ways with one another as we continue to define our new normal in terms of school! Thank you so much for your help!
