it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a deaf and hard of hearing itinerant (traveling) teacher. I travel between 3 school districts and work with 20-25 deaf/hard of hearing students aged 3-21 on a daily basis. I help them with self advocacy, but also with academics. A lot of what we do requires up-to-date, working technology. I have requested technology upgrades/updates through my home district and have not been successful in getting any help. Most people don't realize that listening is a FULL TIME job because most of us are blessed to not struggle with this ability. However, for a deaf or hard of hearing student they often experience listening fatigue, headaches because of listening devices that help increase the volume for better sound, substantial background noise interruptions, and many other things. With the help of updated, new technology they can have captions on lessons as needed, apps that help them with their daily struggles in class, and so many other things. I am hoping to get a new, updated laptop and iPad so that I can use it with all of my kids throughout all 3 districts that I work with.
