I work with students who are excited to come to school.

They are the reason I come to work with a smile on my face. They come from different backgrounds, but in the classroom, we are a family that helps and supports each other. It's my first year at this school and I am so fortunate to be surrounded by staff and administration that genuinely care about each other and the students.

My Project

I am requesting an iPad for my classroom. We will use it to share our work with parents. Students will be able to create their own online portfolio of work. Students will use the iPad to take a picture of their work and upload it to their personal portfolio. Parents will be able to see it from their device and comment/like their child's work - instant feedback. Parents will have easy access to see their child's work and students can see their parents' responses. Each student has a unique code, so parents will only see their own child's work. It's a great way for parents to see what their child is doing in class.

There is a big push for technology in education.

What's so great about the online portfolio is that even the quietest student will be able to participate. Having an iPad in the classroom will give students access to upload their work and help bridge the communication between parents and the school. Students will become more familiar with technology and see the positive comments from their parents to help build their confidence.
