My Students
Every morning my students ask, “What are we learning about in math today?” They love the new common core math materials that our district has adopted. My biggest challenge is differentiating to meet my students’ various learning needs. They are ready and excited to learn with the aid of technology!
My students attend a public school in California that has adopted a new Common Core math and language arts curriculum.
The students love technology and enjoy all the interactive games and educational opportunities they have to offer. My class is a wonderful mix of intelligence, excitement, and curiosity. This class has a wide array of learning needs, including students with special needs. iPads will provide each student the opportunity to access content, games, and activities to ensure their success. Having three iPads with cases for math intervention and extension opportunities and reading during center time would greatly enhance my curriculum and provide my students an opportunity to learn at their individual level.
My Project
There are so many new math games and language arts activities that an iPad has to offer the learners in my classroom. The applications are engaging, fun, and will help all students reach their full potential. The students will have access to applications to guide them through learning all the exciting new concepts taught throughout the school year. The students will use the iPads each and every day during math extension and intervention activities. Additionally, students will use them during center time to teach a new concept, review a tricky concept, or explore a new curiosity. My students will also get access to all of the wonderful audio books, text to speech technology, and innovative learning tools that an iPad has to offer. There is no end to what they will be able to learn!
My project is important because it opens the technological world to young minds that are ready to learn and retain valuable information for life!
Three iPads with cases will be a beneficial addition to our classroom that will allow learners to access applications, educational tools, and resources to further continue their individual success. I am positive that the iPads will greatly benefit the students.
