This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are creative, active, loving, full of questions, and inspiring! They absolutely enjoy fun, hands-on activities in our inclusion classroom.

They are active learners who need hands-on activities throughout the day in order to allow them to explore and interact with one another.

Early Childhood Education is the focus of our school. We offer bus services that bring students from all over the city with different backgrounds and challenges. 90% of my students come from low-income families. Although my students are exposed to different learning strategies and are constantly on the go while learning, they need hands-on activities and a safe environment that allows them to focus and emerge as strong readers. By having this extra support we will be able to provide them with opportunities to meet their needs. These preschoolers are really an amazing group that fills my day with their smiles, questions, and original ideas.

My Project

Our class was funded for a multi-touch interactive frame that converts a regular tv into a smartboard. Now we need the 55 inch tv to make the full experience real and available for our diverse and inclusive classroom. This will be used to allowed students to touch the screen and interact with some programs and applications like Khan Academy, ABC Mouse, Boom Cards. Some students are using an iPad but when it is time to work in a large group it becomes challenging because not all the students can see the iPad screen. The TV will be used daily for morning meetings, literacy, science and math learning blocks.
