My Students
Boston is known for many things, Patriots, Red Sox and St. Patrick's day just to name a few. Not everyone knows about the many areas of the city which are not given as much attention, with many of our students living in these parts of town. Not all of our students have the easiest time at home, but when they enter the classroom their drive for success cannot be matched. They are a young, diverse group of future leaders.
They are eager to learn and are full of ideas and potential that can lead to the next big technological breakthrough if given the right tools.
My class helps them to fulfill this potential and see their ideas come to life from design, testing and building. My class teaches them the basics of engineering and robotics and we require more supplies in order for each student to have more access to the program. Currently, students from one class have to share their work with another three classes due to us not having the kits needed.
My Project
Currently, the students are taught using the age old method of standing in front of a class, behind a projector or being away from the students. My classroom needs the equipment to be able to show students both from far away and up-close, the information that they are trying to learn. With the iPad Pro, Apple TV and pencil, I will be able to teach more effectively and be able to move closer to students and bridge the invisible barrier that stands in classrooms of where they are taught.
I will be able to enhance the student's learning while at the same time being able to be near a student in need to help them.
I will also be able write student's notes down which happen in the class which will get saved along with images and sketches that can then be sent to them directly as a PDF file enabling them to keep their class content in a digital copy reducing the loss of written work.
