Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a first year teacher and recent graduate of Texas Southern University. I am also an active member of ATPE working as a campus representative. I work in the Greater Southwest Houston area for Houston Independent School District. I am excited about my first year. The majority of my student population is Hispanic and African American. My school is a Title I school. My goal is to be sure that all my students have the supplies they will need this school year to be successful in all ways possible.
My Project
Due to the recent flooding here in our area many of my students have either displaced from their home or have had significant damage. We have not started school yet so getting school supplies all over again may be a challenge. Assisting my students with headphones will allow them to be able to actively participate in technological activities. My students and I this school year will greatly appreciate the donations and will actively use them throughout the year. Thank you very much for taking the time to help my students in their time of need. We are forever grateful for everything.
