My students need laptops to improve their chances of competing in a technology-rich world. They are behind their peers in most all socio-economic areas, lacking access to basic items of instruction such as working laptops.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Many students are the same in one way: 90+ % live on or below the poverty level. With 32 children in our class, we are challenged to provide all of them with materials they need to compete with other students in less impoverished areas, and be players in a field ripe with technology and world awareness.
My students are curious, eager learners from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, many of whom are living below the poverty level.
These children love learning: they work hard every day and overcome obstacles that would leave an adult intimidated!
My Project
My students will benefit tremendously from having laptops to type on. They currently have one set of 8 Chrome Books to share between 32 students, and a cart of outdated computers with missing keyboard keys to type on.
My students need to perform in a larger, more competitive environment than ever before, and they need the resources to keep up.
We need a full set of computers, and this project will bring us closer to that goal. My students need computers to research poets, endangered animals, and historical topics. Please help us become globally competitive in a continually shrinking world. Thank you!
