My students need the IntelliScanner Book Scanner, Acer Chromebook to help work the scanner, and books, to be able to have an effective and ever growing library.

My Students

My students come from various backgrounds. Many students are high achieving and some struggle throughout the school year. However, they are ready to learn and excited for the day. They all possess vibrant attitude and dance when they succeed. They also have learned to applaud slip-ups since mistakes are the road to success.

When you walk into our classroom you will not only see smiles but determined faces of students who are ready to learn and find the next best book.

Books help us find ways to solve problems as well as find imaginative ideas to be great problem solvers.

My Project

Every year, 20% of a teacher's library gets lost. It's great to have so many kids read, but it's also hard on the wallet. Most teachers, including myself, buy books out of their own pocket. It's difficult to stay within your personal budget and provide a sufficient, exciting, and leveled library.

My students love to read, and I don't want them to be without a library.

They are constantly asking for recommendations and telling me about the book they just read. I'm looking for a way to better track my books, see what books students are reading to better help their reading development. The Intelliscanner will be a great way to help track books, see what popular books the students are reading, and how best to adapt my library for my students. The computer will be used for the scanner since you need one designated computer for the program to work. I want to provide books for all levels, as well as provide new and upcoming books for my students to read. The series that I have chosen to add are some of my students' favorites, however, they all have been lost and I would like to replace them. The scanner tags will be placed on the book to categorize each book.

I want to continue to foster their love for reading and the best way I can do that is to provide a leveled library, and a system that will help keep track of books so when students want to check out a book and can't find it, we can easily see where it has gone.
