Help me give my students two iPads for more practice in math and reading, and Scholastic News and Science Spin magazines to engage in fun reading time.
My second graders are eager to have technology in the classroom. Currently, we are the only grade level at my school without any technology for students to use in the classroom. Having technology in the classroom would help with extra practice in math and reading.
My Project
Students will have access to Scholastic News and Science Spin magazines. Students can learn about news, science, and practice reading skills. Students will also have access to technology by using iPads to access Washoe County School District approved applications (Dreambox, Reading A-Z books, Benchmark Advance). Students will have access to Scholastic News online as well.
Having technology and Scholastic publications, students can focus on the following second grade standards:
More than a third of students from low‑income households
