My students walk into our classroom each and everyday ready and eager to learn. Ready to fill their minds with new and wonderful things. They especially love Math and the opportunity to work on the computer. They get excited when they discover new information that they didn't know by researching the topic. Many of my students do not have a computer at home. Most of the students are from low income families. We are a Title I Public School. 100% of our student population receives free breakfast and lunch.
As soon as they enter the classroom, they ask who gets to go on the computer?

Many of my students do not have computers at home. Our classroom, their home away from home is the only place they get to learn and enjoy using one. I may not be able to control what happens at home, however, I can certainly try to provide these things for them at school.
My Project
"My students need laptops, a printer and math games. The laptops will give my students the opportunity to go on line and learn how to navigate the internet to complete assignments, play games or just have fun. They will have the opportunity to practice their skills in Math, Reading, and Science with the many fabulous programs available. They will also be learning how to code, something they beg to do. They will use the printer after typing in a writing assignment or creating a graphic organizer to display in our classroom. The math games will be used in centers or just for "fun" to help improve/enhance the students math skills. The Hear Myself Sound phones will help my readers, especially those that are reading below grade level to hear every sound they make, this will enhance their fluency and more.
My students will have the opportunity to have use of technology without having to wait their turn and be able to learn math in a fun and exciting way...through games.
